An artisan ceramic tea bowl worthy of the Japanese tea ceremony.
A beautiful matcha bowl, or chawan, is one of the most important components of the Japanese tea ceremony. Made by hand with regional techniques, each bowl is designed to create the smooth, frothy consistency beloved by matcha enthusiasts. This artisan bowl is made with care in the Youhen Ibushi style and features an ashy, primitive texture that requires a master’s hand. Each matcha bowl is produced in the region of Shiga, a center of Japan's ceramic industry that has been producing shigaraki ware pottery since 742 AD.
